Timed to honor the centenary of WWI and America’s entry in 1917, The Unknown Soldier takes us on a theatrical journey from the trenches in France to the present day. Through the discovery of old letters, Charlie and his Aunt Angela piece together the stories of the young soldier Albert, a 16-year-old soldier fighting for King and Country, and Grace, a mother and volunteer nurse who is searching for her lost son. Through Albert and Grace’s letters, the historical war comes alive, and Charlie and Angela find new perspective on the lives of soldiers, nurses and the families back home. This powerful and deeply moving piece of theatre explores the themes of war, duty, courage, sacrifice, family and love. Talkbacks will follow the performances.
