The arts provide us with a diverse array of benefits. They can be a vehicle for expression, introspection, learning and education, or simply a means of satisfaction. In order to provide these and the many other benefits of presenting arts events, generous financial and in-kind contributions are essential.

The Community Performance Series (CPS) has been in residence at SUNY Potsdam since 1989 as a nonprofit college-community bridge, presenting distinctive and renowned public and school-based performances across a range of genres to the Northern New York region.
The mission of CPS is to be a leader toward a vibrant arts culture at SUNY Potsdam and the surrounding Northern New York region by offering a robust and distinct annual, public performing arts season of exceptional artists and musicians. CPS also enhances educational experiences through high-quality masterclasses, internships, workshops, artistic collaborations, and performing arts programming for students and community members at every learning stage.
Since 1989, CPS has brought a diverse range of world-class guest artists to SUNY Potsdam. Their performances come from a variety of backgrounds and identities, pushing audiences to experience performances that serve as “mirrors and windows” through many artistic genres and forms of expression.
Experience high-quality youth and family programming for regional schools and families in the community. Utilizing the performing arts and educational programs to spark creativity, new connections to curriculum and a joy for the arts with our young audience members.
Utilizing the immense talent of students, alumni, and community members in our region, CPS produces an annual Summer Musical during SUNY Potsdam's Alumni Reunion.
