The arts provide us with a diverse array of benefits. They can be a vehicle for expression, introspection, learning and education, or simply a means of satisfaction. In order to provide these and the many other benefits of presenting arts events, generous financial and in-kind contributions are essential.

CPS has been in residence at
SUNY Potsdam since 1989, as a not-for-profit college-community bridge, presenting distinctive and renowned public and school-based performances across a range of genres to the Northern New York region.
Make Your Commitment to the Performing Arts in Our Community
Your generosity ensures that a vibrant performing arts community remains an essential part of life in Northern New York.
We are always looking to add the talent and enthusiasm of dedicated performing arts supporters. Our team of volunteers offers a warm, inclusive environment to build relationships, give back to the community and share in the magic of these special events.
The Mission of Community Performance Series (CPS) is to be a leader toward a vibrant arts culture at SUNY Potsdam and the surrounding Northern New York region by offering a robust and distinct annual, public performing arts season of exceptional artists and musicians. CPS also enhances educational experiences through high-quality masterclasses, internships, workshops, artistic collaborations, and performing arts programming for students and community members at every learning stage.
Bringing in a diverse range of talented guest artists who are well-accomplished in their respective artistic or musical disciplines and come from a range of lived experiences, identities, and backgrounds, our students and community members are welcomed to experience performances that serve as “mirrors and windows” through many artistic genres and forms of expression. Presenting event seasons annually in Fall and Spring since 1989.
High quality youth and family programming for regional schools and families in the community. Utilizing the performing arts and educational programs to spark creativity, new connections to curriculum and a joy for the arts with our young audience members.

Utilizing the immense talent of community members in our region, alumni and SUNY Potsdam students, we produce an annual Summer Musical held annually during the SUNY Potsdam Alumni Reunion week. The 2023 production of "The Addams Family" was a resounding success thanks to the talent, passion and dedication of these incredible people and thanks to YOU, our incredible audience who filled the house each performance.
