The Organ Encounter on September 13, 2025 at 3:00 pm is an on-stage demonstration of the instrument and is offered at no-charge. Tickets are only sold for James Kealey's solo Organ Recital on September 14, 2025 at 3:00 pm. You do not need to purchase a ticket for the Organ Recital to attend the Organ Encounter.
Experience the extraordinary artistry of James Kealey, winner of both the First Prize and Audience Prize at the 2022 American Guild of Organists’ National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance (NYACOP).
A rising star in the world of classical music, Kealey has captivated audiences across the U.S., the U.K., and Europe with performances at iconic venues including Westminster Abbey, St. John the Divine, and the Spreckels Organ Pavilion. His dynamic playing and deep musical insight have earned him recognition as one of The Diapason magazine’s “20 Under 30.”
Currently Director of Music at Third Presbyterian Church in Rochester, NY, and a doctoral candidate at the Eastman School of Music, Kealey brings a masterful blend of technical brilliance and emotional depth to every performance.
Join us for two unforgettable afternoons at Helen M. Hosmer Hall. On Saturday, September 13, Kealey will showcase and demonstrate the organ's inner-workings in an intimate on-stage organ encounter. On Sunday, September 14, Kealey will bring the pipe organ to life in a solo recital showcasing a wide-ranging repertoire, from timeless classics to bold modern works.
